The first written documents of Sitke are the records from 1251, but some Roman remains refer to an even earlier date of origin.
The manor of the Felsőbüki Nagy family was built on the slope near the settlement, originally in baroque style. Later, in 1851 it was rebuilt in romantic style. This explains the peculiar shape of the ground plan. On the north side you can see a cantliever balcony. Before the entrance a Christ sculpture was erected to the wish of Franciska Felsőbüki Nagy in 1734. After nationalization it would be a school for a long time, until in 1982 two families volunteered to have it renovated.
It has been operating as a manor hotel since 1983. The antiquiting, all of them proofs of the owner�s attraction to earlier ages only add to the homely atmosphere. Your stay in the manor hotel can be made even more eventful by having a traditional Hungarian pork meal, vintage programmes or by horseriding. If you need devoute silence to be with your thoughts, you can pay a visit to the baroque church of Sitke, only a few minutes away from the hotel.
