General Information

BALATONFÜRED - THE HEART OF LAKE BALATON Balatonfüred is Hungary`s first health resort rich in sour-water springs. Its history goes back to 1000-1100. It is the country`s cleanest city without air pollution. Its hospital specialised in cardiovascular disorders, with its unique setting is famous all over the world. The first steamboat in Hungary called "Kisfaludy" left this port. The pension-restaurant was named after Ferenc Káldy who designed a number of famous buildings in Balatonfüred, among these is the first Hungarian Jacht Club. The pension-restaurant is still owned by Káldy family. The homely little restaurant is located near the city border, a ten-minute walk from the lake.
